Verified Every capital city should have one of these museums.
Local friends told us to go, otherwise I’m not sure we would have done. A good blend of history and visuals tells the story of Malta in various rooms. The virtual ride at the end is awesome ! 6 year old loved it! It’s quite expensive but worth it. Also you get access to viewing platform on 32 floor of mercury tower to see spectacular views of Valetta and the sea.

A absolute must-visit! This was, without a doubt, the single best experience my family and I had in Malta. It was wonderfully immersive and surprisingly emotional. The team working there is world-class—so friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Being offered access to the viewing platform at the end gave us some of the most stunning, breath taking views of the entire island. We would revisit this in a heartbeat and cannot recommend it highly enough!

It started off well but after boarding the virtual ride, it went downhill rapidly. The ride broke down, the operator then attempted to reset, we started but it failed again. We were told that we would go to the viewing area at the top of the tower while the technical crew tried to sort the issue. At the top, our guide kept repeating what our options were, but none of them mentioned a refund. When asked , he insisted there wouldn't be any refunds, but the photographs would be free... wow! When we got back to the reception area, we asked to speak to the manager, all the while ,the irate guide kept repeating that a refund wasn't an option. However, after some deliberation with the manager and a discussion about the unfairness of our options, he offered a full refund. The highlight of the experience would have been the virtual ride, not the cinematic walk through or the hurried view from a high building, but the guide spoiled it further with his kurt attitude, he should have left any decisions to the manager.

We recently visited the Odyssey experience in Malta and I’m not sure if we caught it on a bad day or not but it wasn’t a great experience. The actual build up/content for the first 30 minutes was very interesting and we all enjoyed it. However when it came to the actual flight/simulation (the part that attracted us the most) they couldn’t get it to work, we tried a couple of times and then got told that we couldn’t get the simulation to work. We then got rushed up to the top of the view point and rushed back down. I don’t think it’s the staff’s fault that the simulation didn’t work, but the way that they went about it was really poor hence the review. 2 out of the 3 staff were helpful and sympathetic but the other 1 had a terrible attitude. Wouldn’t come back based on that.

Well worth it, good mix of history and entertainment. Trip to the top of the Mercury Building a bonus ! Friendly staff, well organised. Much quieter than expected possibly because folks not aware of the attraction, we definitely weren't and glad we stumbled on it!
